Nanotechnology – innovation in decorating and protecting metallic surfaces *

Martino Gardan
* international lecture

Learn about cataphoretic coating comprised of resin and ceramic nanoparticles (e-coating), an innovative and ideal product for protecting metallic surfaces.

The presence of ceramic nanoparticles in its formulation improves the resistance of this layer compared to other e-coatings available in the market. In addition, the product can be formulated in various colors by adding pigments, reinforcing its ornamental and protective purpose in the jewelry industry.

The lecture will show the transparent version and the possibilities of colors that the product offers, besides experimental tests confirming its resistance to abrasion and darkening in the face of coatings offered by chemical passivation processes, galvanic baths and PDV techniques.

Martino Gardan graduated in Industrial Chemistry and has a PhD in Molecular Sciences, with specialization in Chemical Sciences (Università degli Studi di Padova). Currently he is technical manager of the Galvanoplasty Division of the Legor Group, based in Italy.

Digital modeling of jewels, gem lapidary and fashion accessories

By Homero Gouveia

Market trends show that the direct passage of digital models to metals improves the finish of the pieces and reduces their processing time, excluding a series of stages used in conventional techniques (polishing, reducing lost material on the foundry tree, among others).

Attend this lecture and answer any questions about Digital Modeling: the advantages of digital models and the materials that can be used; the available software and their application differences; advances in equipment for metal and resin production and the growth of the market, besides demand for specialized professionals.

Homero Gouveia is a physicist and electronic engineer (USP). His experience in the United States gave him professional expertise in the areas of robotics, quality control and computer-controlled machine design. Today he works in the Brazilian jewelry sector as a specialist in ultra precision lapidary.
